Veterinaria México OA is an open access journal that publishes original research from across all areas of veterinary medicine. It is published by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and sponsored by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).

Open science policy

There are no publication charges. Approved submissions are available in open access and authors are required to make all relevant research data fully accessible to readers.

Peer review

Our editorial team makes sure every submission undergoes thorough, objective, and constructive peer review. This policy is aimed at ensuring that all the research we publish conforms to internationally accepted scientific quality standards.

If the editor in chief or an editorial board member submits a manuscript as author or co-author, they do not participate in the editorial process of that manuscript. Instead, the submission is assigned to a different editorial board member, who will both handle the submission and make the final editorial decision.

Authors are encouraged to make the peer review process available to our readers. Hence, the peer review will be published along with the manuscript if the authors agree to do it. This policy is compulsory for submissions sent by editorial board members.

Visibility and influence

Accepted papers are immediately accessible as open access across a range of digital platforms and databases. Veterinaria México OA is indexed on JCR, Web of Science, Scopus, Scimago, Scielo, Latindex, and CONACYT.
